Therapy

My work is highly relational and I am guided by attachment theory, using the Circle of Security concept of “Bigger, Stronger, Wiser, Kind” to embrace a person’s individuality and strengths.

I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment by ensuring that my work is neuroaffirming and culturally sensitive, respecting and appreciating diverse perspectives and experiences.

I am deeply drawn to the classic “talking therapy” practices conventionally rooted in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This is a form of therapy that acknowledges the importance of early attachments, current relationships, and the power a therapeutic relationship has towards an individual’s self-awareness and ultimately healing. As relevant, I incorporate cognitive approaches into treatment. However, my training and the research also validates the deepest healing comes from a space where a client feels safe, understood, appropriately guided and empowered by their therapist, regardless of the therapist’s chosen modality.

You can explore specific therapy modalities I use across different contexts in the dropdown links.
